If you haven’t read a book about Christian life or if you need a spark to get your relationship with the Lord back on track, I challenge you to read Crazy Love. There are several authors emerging that simply want to point the way to God. This is one of them. No denominational agendas here. Scripture and real-life examples are used to show that God passionately loves people.
Francis’ goal in this book is simple: “By surrendering your life to God’s purposes, He will bring you the most pleasure in this life and the next. …I hope it affirms your desire for ‘more God’ even if you are surrounded by people who feel they have ‘enough God.’”
Crazy Love is simple, honest and humbly written. Francis uses examples of struggle and temptation as well as breakthroughs in his relationship with God to show that you are not alone on this journey through life. When you are in love, you do crazy things to show your devotion. God loves us with this kind of crazy love and longs for the same from us… a love of real devotion and heart-felt commitment that consumes our thoughts and continually draws us even closer to Him.
As I read through this 186 page work, I kept circling sections, taking notes in the margins and thinking, “This is who I want to be. I want THIS kind of relationship with God.” Crazy Love has caused me to not just spend more time with God but to be more attentive to what scripture says and trust Him more deeply. He is Holy and deserves more than just my left-overs!
Also, there is a website set up to enhance your reading of Crazy Love. Go to crazylovebook.com to see videos that coincide with each chapter as well as other helpful tools.

We did a study on this book in my Sunday school class. I was actually in and out of the class at that point due to some other obligations at church, and never had a chance to get the book. What I recall from the classes I was able to attend was a feeling that a little bit of a guilt-trip was being laid on. It was presented in such a way that being “lukewarm” could be an indication that one is not saved. In truth, we are all lukewarm relative to where we should be, because we are all sinners, even after we are saved. We could always do more for God–I know I definitely could. But, we also need to be confident in our salvation, If we have sincerely given our hearts to God, we can then let God draw us even closer. It looked like the book was a good wake up call. We should have a desire to do more for God out of a love for him and in gratitude for what he’s done for us, but not out of guilt that we’re not doing enough.
Such a great book! Thank you for taking the time to review and suggest! Have you ever read anything by Bob Sorge? He’s another one whose books never fail to bless me.
Bless you!
