Book Review: EVERYONE COMMUNICATES, FEW CONNECT by John C. Maxwell

by J.W. Bergmann on March 29, 2010

To state that John Maxwell is a leader is an understatement. From his personal success in church leadership to helping vast numbers of churches, organizations and individuals all over the world build solid personal foundations from which to grow; John has led ordinary people to reach extraordinary levels.

The book Everyone Communicates, Few Connect is a must have for anyone who hopes for more meaningful relationships at any (personal, group or audience) level. Each chapter is filled with thought-provoking material and ends with memorable challenges.

Mr. Maxwell once again shows by illustration how to touch lives in fresh ways. At first glance, you will notice pictures and lists of people everywhere: On the cover, inside the front & back covers and in the endpapers… Not to mention the scores of personal quotes sprinkled throughout this 250 page read. I suggest that you tackle the book to see why he did this. John Maxwell has a gift for touching and caring for people as individuals. Everyone Communicates, Few Connect builds up and empowers yet another generation.

As a side-note: While reading along I kept a pen in hand, circling vital thoughts and taking note of ideas that would help me be a better connector. After completion, my copy now looks like it has been attacked by a 4 year old. Thanks John (and Charlie Wetzel) for another powerful and vulnerable volume.
